It was my first time in Sequoia National Park. Actually, it was my first time in any National Park of the United States. I’m French, the environment felt giant to me and amazing at the same time. It felt like a brand new world where everything is a discovery.
I loved this park so much, we didn’t plan to stay a night in a camp nearby. I didn’t know I would love this place so much. It would be wonderful to go through a full night in this ambiance and energy. When you are surrounded by all these giant trees, it really makes you humble. It made me want to pray all day among these trees. This skylight felt like a call from the inside out.
This time, I traveled with my Canon film camera.
The film photo was developed in a film photo lab in Paris when I came back to France in 2017. And I scanned the film myself in 2025, with a film scanner into a high-resolution jpg file format.
I don’t edit my photos, I like them raw and genuine, the closest to what I saw and felt without making it another way than the reality. Some exceptions may apply, I sometimes edit the exposure when I feel that the photo came darker than it was.
My photos are available for purchase on my shop.
The film photos are not perfect. They were sometimes damaged with scratches by the film photo lab while developing it (unfortunately). And sometimes, there was dust on my camera lens. These film photos are genuine and imperfect because this is how life is, perfectly imperfect.
